Tim Wieher is CAN Capital’s Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel. Prior to joining CAN Tim was Chief Compliance Officer for the Direct Segment with GE Capital Corporation in Chicago. Earlier in his career with GE, Tim was the Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary for GE Public Finance, and also served as Senior Counsel for the Corporate Finance division. Prior to joining GE, Tim practiced law in the areas of corporate finance, M&A, and tax with Reed Smith, Thompson Coburn, and Smith Hemmesch Burke Kaczynski.
Tim holds a J.D. with a Federal Tax Certificate, an LL.M. in Tax Law, and an M.S. in Accountancy from Loyola University in Chicago. He received his MBA with concentrations in Management & Organizations and Entrepreneurship & Innovation from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management (a top 10 Business Program) in 2013. In 2009, he was recognized as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine, and he has been the recipient of the GE Capital Americas Legal Value Award, Corporate Finance Leadership Award, and the GE Capital Legal Department’s “Rookie of the Year” Award.
